It is a popular tool used worldwide by teachers, students, employees and life long learners. It can be used in any subject, any language, on any device. Kahoot! can be played as a group or individually anywhere and any time. It can be used to create fun learning games and trivia quizzes. There are also a high number of free, ready to use existing games. For paid members there are more tools to chose from when it comes to creating and organizing these collections of games.

There are more ways Kahoot! could be used in a classroom. Besides using it for reviewing and reinforcing certain concepts in a classroom setting, it can also be implemented as a class work station, as part of study group or peer-to-peer challenge, as well as for homework. Although it has an option to time the participants' performance, especially for homework use, it is recommended to have it switched off to prioritize accuracy.

Authority

Kahoot! was created by a highly knowledgeable team with the help of  expertise from all over the world. This educational app offers the opportunity to create or use already prepared content.

Purpose

As a teacher, I see Kahoot! as a great assessment tool providing a detailed analysis of my students' performance helping me to define if the topic has been acquired by my students or not. This tool is useful for both students and educators with the focus of making learning fun both in-, and outside of classroom, that can be implemented in blended learning as well as flipped lessons.

Privacy

Kahoot! does not collect any Personal Information from a person who merely plays a Kahoot except if you participate in a Kahoot! which is hosted using the Player Identifier feature.

The information practices are different with respect to younger users. Specifically, when a U.S. user who is under the age of 13 or a user from outside the U.S. who is under the age of 16 creates an account (a “child accountholder”), Kahoot! collects only his or her email address for the purpose of providing password reminders. No other Personal Information from child accountholders are being collected and they immediately and permanently alter the email address such that it can only be used as a password reminder and cannot be reconstructed into its original form or used to contact the child accountholder. Kahoot! also collects a user name and password from child accountholders, which are used for login purposes only.
